Description

A project for 2-D Concepts and Design. :)

We did Mandala's based on personal history/heritage/memories/dreams...I kind of stretched it a little because that's what I was inspired to do, and kind of did a little narration of my own personal Spirituality.

Which I can, without including the aspect of me being mainly agnostic, only describe as something of a mish-mash of a bunch of different ideas from different faiths, since I haven't found one that I completely, one-hundred percent agree with.

Lotus is from Hindu and Buddhist idealogy, particularly the idea of it's symbolism in that something beautiful can bloom even over murky water, or as Hindu mythology symbolizes water, Chaos. It's one of my favorite symbols just because of the beauty of it and how it represents "rising above the chaos."
Also, The Buddha is often depicted as sitting on a lotus while meditating, so it's kind of like an enlightenment symbol as well.

Yin Yang you can see, I think is from the Taoists, right? But I believe that there's a certain harmony to everything, and in all things, you need balance. Might be why I'm an Independent instead of Republican or Democrat. Either way, Balance is very important to me. There's even balance in chaos. And without evil, you can't have good.

I also included the three goddess moons, which hail from the ancient Earth-Goddess religions, symbolizing the Maiden(or virgin), Mother, and Crone. I usually can connect much better to religions/mythologies that honor the Earth as the mother. It's kind of more involved than that, but in short, it really represents my more Pagan nature, which is probably more powerful in my influence.

There are also some elemental themes in here, with blue, swirling lines for water, Green vines and leaves for Earth, a touch of sky coloring( a little harder to see at this vantage) for air, and the more dominant of my elemental influences is Fire, which stands out a bit more.

I also included fire as kind of a symbol of passion, which I find important to life and love.

So I put a lot into this piece, and I think it might be one of my favorites. And it really threw me back into Prismacolors, which for whatever reason(laziness and Copic markers being my prime suspects), I haven't been using for a while.

I do love my Prismas. x3

I'm excited about my new project as well!

Oh, and this was too big for my scanner so I was forced to take a picture of it. Standard disclaimer of "It looks much better and more colorful in person" applies. :)
