Woo. Mokka Week day 1: Rain, CHECK.
You're now looking at the reason why I haven't uploaded anything for MW this week. It took FOREVER.
A day or two for sketching, drawing, and inking, then THREE days in Photostudio. I think my program was starting to get tired of me towards the end today. D:
It was LONG and ARDUOUS, and I think I commented in my journal that I'd never do anything this big again...But, that was this morning, and I was right in the middle of the process.
And I couldn't call myself an artist if I came out of this and saw the fantastic results and STILL said "never again."
HOLY CRAP.
I love this piece TO DEATH. Aikka's hair keeps giving me convulsions of the dorky fangirl artist variety. 8D
The background was remarkably easy...Was going for a real rough, sketchy and kind of "painting" look--Not sure if that worked-- but it looks good to me!
The tree is actually part of the original drawing, and if you've read my fanfiction, that's the kind of tree that I designed and stuck all over my version of Nourasia. They also have violet leaves, if you can tell from the one in the far background. ^^ also why I included some purple in coloring the trunk itself. I love how it turned out.
...And yes, I gave Aikka a nose. D: Just a subtle one, to not interrupt Savin's great style too much.
As FOR THE WRITING segment of this theme, I really included it as it's own deviation because I thought it deserved more than just to be in artist's comments.
It was really easy, and it flowed for me the whole time I drew this picture. I had this image in my head, and the story in my head was how it came to be.
Oooof. So yeah. The bane of my existence this week is complete. I feel great relief. lol. I'll also have to juggle Mokka week with Christmas drawings the rest of the week, just FYI. D:

I remember this and it's one of the best pieces I remember. Good work on the rain and the two characters.
