A bottle I carved up with a fire/water and yin/yang dynamic...Again, only Zutara if you want it to be. It has a counterpart, which I will upload briefly.
This one, I'm glad to say, went to my good friend in Jewelry class, Shannon, for $5. She really liked the Fire/water design on it and is going to use it to keep individual short stem roses that she gets every now and then.
B-mix clay(like porcelein)...and the glazing was fun...To get all the right colors for the water and the water, I had to get creative. >3 The green glaze was celadon, which is my all-time favorite, a lot of my pieces have it. Before putting the celedon on, I put some Cobalt wash on the water design to get that lovely blue. Then, I painted some Malcom-Davis into the fire carvings, put some wax over that both to get the bright orange color and to keep the green from pooling in it. Then, just covered the whole thing in Celadon.
I love how well the yin and yang parts turned out, the glaze pooled at all the right places. Just how I wanted.
